Winning HyperCard stacks from the 1989 SuperStacks contest. Presented exactly as the CD-ROM disk image. Navigate to the "SuperStacks" folder to see the winning stacks, or launch the "Open SuperStacks" player for the originally intended experience, although it's a little clunky, IMO. ***NOTE*** This item contains a 210MB disk image, please be patient while it downlaods and mounts once emulated. This CD ROM contains the following: SuperStack Winners Showcase Explore the...

A corporation simulator with shades of SimCity and a tongue-in-cheek attitude. Has copy-protection, please see code sheet here:  https://archive.org/details/CapitalistPigCodes "Capitalist Pig is one of the most fun - and the most obscure - business simulations released in the early 1990s. TidBITS is an Apple Macintosh ezine, launched in 1990 by Adam and Tonya Engst. Tidbits has been published weekly since April 1990, which makes it one of the longest running Internet publications. This emulated Internet Archive item contains issues 101 to 147 of TidBits (it was meant to be up to issue 150 but the final three issues I had were corrupt...), in Setext format. Setext can be viewed using the Easy View app, which is included in this item. Usage: Once the emulator has booted, open the...

"Your Personal Savior on a Floppy Disk Returns... How many times in a crisis situation have you turned to prayer, only to discover that the line is busy or perhaps even disconnected? It's alarming but true, most prayer requests go unanswered due to the sheer magnitude of verbal and written correspondence received by GOD every day. Even worse, some prayers are misaddressed, others are sent to the wrong department, and even a few are slipped down drain pipes and sent straight to HELL by lazy...

It is from a now-defunct organization called the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America. It was a free program basically intended to teach people about Islam, and probably the first time that an app was made specifically for that purpose in English. Requested/submitted by John Peterson, as follows: "This is Iago, and what makes it interesting is it's one of the very first pieces of game shareware distributed independently of normal (professional) developer channels. It was obviously done as a labor of love, as there's very little attribution within the app itself. I distinctly remember playing it in 1984, just weeks after the very first 128K Macs came off the truck. It also followed all the rules as apps go, and kept running until...

This emulated item contains the game Bolo and around 4000 custom maps. :) From MacintoshGarden.org: Bolo is a 16 player graphical networked real-time multi-player tank battle game. It has elements of arcade-style shoot-em-up action, but for the serious players who play 12 hour games with 16 players working in teams in different networked computer clusters around an office or university campus, it becomes more of a strategy game. You have to play it to understand.   — Stuart Cheshire Bolo...

From http://www.iangilman.com/software/ishido.php: Ishido was my first commercial software project, a contemplative solitaire game played with tiles. Michael Feinberg designed it and Brad Fregger , the producer, was nice enough to take a chance on me, an untried 17 year-old, to program it. I ended up contributing much more than just programming to the game, and I'm still quite proud of it. Near the end of development, the publisher (Epyx) suddenly went bankrupt. Undaunted, we took the game and...
